ENERGY EEFICIENCY PROGRAMS
There are 2 programs:
State "Express Efficiency" which offers rebates for the following
- Process boiler replacements = $2 per MBTU (minimum thermal efficiency is 84%)
- Pipe Insulation = $2 per linear foot (minimum pipe diameter is 1" & minimum insulation thickness is 2" of fiberglass or foam) $1 increase from last year’s program!
- Tank insulation = $2 per square foot (minimum insulation thickness is 2” of fiberglass or foam) $1 increase from last year’s program!
- Greenhouse Heat Curtains = $0.15 per square foot (new or replacement curtains in existing greenhouses) $0.5 increase from last year’s program and expanded to include new installations!
SoCalGas “Local” programs which offer Incentives for the following
- Commercial / Industrial Energy Conservation = $0.75 per therm saved or 30% of equipment costs (the lesser of the 2 amounts)
Examples: a. Heat recovery systems b. Boiler re-tubing c. Burner replacement (i.e. power burners) d. Poly plastic replacement with IR plastic (heated greenhouses only)This is a new measure that has a the potential for great savings at very low cost - Commercial / Industrial Equipment Replacement $0.75 per therm saved or 30% of equipment cost (the lesser of the 2 amounts)
Examples: a. Replacing greenhouse space heaters with higher efficient models or brands To be eligible for these programs participants must be SoCalGas Core customers
